New applications of integral equations methods for Solvation Continuum Models: ionic solutions and liquid crystals

چکیده
We present a new method for solving numerically the equations associated with solvation continuum models, which also works when the solvent is an anisotropic dielectric or an ionic solution. This method is based on the integral equation formalism. Its theoretical background is set up and some numerical results for simple systems are given. This method is much more eeective than three dimensional methods used so far, like nite-elements or nite-diierences, in terms of both numerical accuracy and computational costs.

The molar conductivity data of 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium salicylate, [BMIm][Sal] as an active pharmaceutical ingredient ionic liquid (API-IL) have been determined in water and aqueous solutions of amino acids, glycine and L-alanine at T= (288.15 to 318.15) K. The molar conductivity data were analyzed by low concentration Chemical Model (lcCM) and limiting molar conductivities ( ), ion associa...

Motivated by our recent proposition on the possibility of using dielectric continuum models to interpret experimental measurements of solvation dynamics in room temperature ionic liquids [J. Phys. Chem. A 110, 8623 (2006)], some detailed simulation studies are performed to test the validity of our proposition. From these simulation studies, it seems to be justified that an extended Debye-Hückel...

A new learning strategy is proposed for training of radial basis functions (RBF) network. We apply two different local optimization methods to update the output weights in training process, the gradient method and a combination of the gradient and Newton methods. Numerical results obtained in solving nonlinear integral equations show the excellent performance of the combined gradient method in ...

The solvation of infinitely dilute solutes in supercritical solvents is illustrated by integral equation calculations, according to a recently proposed molecularbased formalism that characterizes the solvent environment around individual species and connects it to the resulting macroscopic solvation behavior. The formalism is applied to the analysis of the solubility enhancement of nonelectroly...
